The present owners of the Orchideeën Hoeve are the fourth generation of the Maarssen grower family. The required growing experience and the participation in international orchid shows have extended the knowledge of nursing and displaying. By linking growing and displaying the gardens you could say we’re worldwide trend-setting. It figures we’re very proud at the high quality of our tropical gardens!
Basic principle of Cock Veldhuis, our designer, is his assessment of the building of expositions. Starting from that idea he planned the gardens for the orchid lovers and the millions.
The largest butterfly
The butterfly garden, opened in April 2008, has lots of components for young and old. Of course there are thousands of butterflies, but in addition to this reptiles, fish, birds and tortoises. And above all a lovely, tropical scenery!
