The trail from the Lory to the Butterfly garden has become far healthier and much more fun! In early October 2014, we constructed a new adventure trail which cuts right through the orchid fields and leads past all sorts of fruit trees and the ‘Pura Vida’ citrus bar. On Saturday 11 October 2014, the new trail was officially opened to the public, and we are delighted with the results! Curious? Check out the photos on Facebook by clicking here.
A number of new inhabitants have recently joined the Malaysian garden! Last summer saw the addition of a brand-new Amazonian pool to that garden. Since then, its population has expanded with a number of impressive freshwater-fish species. One of these species is the redtail catfish, for instance. The redtail catfish can attain a length of 1.20 metres! The fun part of this pool is that you are allowed to feed these fluvial creatures.
The new Lory Garden is a festival of colours for all ages! More than eighty colourful Rainbow Lorikeets fly around freely in this completely new aviary. Lories are active and curious small parrots that love to demonstrate their great agility in the air and their habits. Moreover, they love nectar! If you hold a small feed container in your hand, the Lory will swiftly land on your arm and savour the delicious snack.
